Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
The Common Safety Orientation (CSO) is an industry-standard safety course created by Energy Safety Canada for the energy and oil & gas sectors. This course provides workers new to the energy industry with foundational health and safety concepts to support safe work performance. Participants will learn about safe work practices, emergency preparedness and response procedures, reporting incidents and near misses, applying the 10 Life Saving Rules, and identify and address workplace hazards.
Training is provided through Energy Safety Canada.
General Mine Safety Awareness (GMSA)
General Mine Safety Awareness certification and recertification online training provided through Saskatchewan Polytechnic.
General Mine Safety Awareness is a mandatory safety training program designed to ensure all personnel entering Saskatchewan mine sites are equipped with the essential knowledge and awareness to operate safely and responsibly. Recertification is required every 5 years.
